I'm Chris Pauley and I'm heading to Haiti with a small medical team that a coworker (@ Kaiser Santa Teresa, San Jose, CA) helped to put together through the Adventist Medical Evangelism Network. We leave out of Chicago to Haiti on Jan-28 and are scheduled to return on Feb-04. This blog is to update friends and relatives while we're there. I'll have a satellite phone and will update my husband Ken who will update the blog while I am in Haiti.
Who sponsored trip?
AMEN is the group that put together this trip. AMEN is the Adventist Medical Evangelism Network. A coworker of mine is a team lead, medical professionals on the trip are not necessarily members of the Adventist organization.
- AMEN's role is to provide information and be a clearing house for doctors and nurses interested in serving for the Haiti relief
- AMEN is NOT a relief organization
- For those on Facebook, you can become a fan, search for Life and Hope for Haiti
- You can find us on the web at http://LifeandHopeforHaiti.org
- AMEN currently has roughly 30 doctors and nurses in Haiti working
- AMEN has secured roughly 20 satellite phones for communications purposes and has provided 10 ipod nanos to doctors giving relief so they can capture stories and share what is going on in Haiti
- AMEN is using social media and an online project management tool to organize and promote their efforts
